After ten years together, this NYC couple decided to make it official. They were on a tight budget but wanted the evening to be as colorful, fabulous and fun as they are.
We produced the look of the whole event, from fabrics, to flowers to lighting, in a cavernous former synagogue on the Lower East Side.
Dahlias were chosen as the main flower for their seasonality, exuberance, and elegant complexity. Fresh wheat grass in turquoise pots was a reflection of the couple’s humor and openness that welcomed guests, and crabapple boughs in huge vases added dramatic effect. The couple are foodies, so we incorporated fresh herbs – mint, parsley, rosemary, and chives into the bouquets. All the plant materials were locally sourced from nearby farms.
